Where Have I Been?

That is a great question… My teeth are killing me. I went in to have fillings placed on some of my teeth and have experienced a lot of pain. Ibuprofen is the word for the month. So sorry if I don’t feel like blogging. I have been a grouch for the past 3 weeks and wouldn’t you if your teethed ached all the time? Of course!

Things seem to be improving. In fact, I actually look forward - once again - to get back to blogging.

It has been hard to be silly and live up to my name this month. But I do sense some uncontrolable sillyness coming on.. :D

New Blog Software

Some of you may have noticed but I have transfered the site over to new blog software. It looks really similar to the other one so if you haven’t visited very often you may not notice a change. Unfortunately in the process I could not retreive and carry over all of your comments. But feel free to create an account and begin posting again.

I may or may not transfer all my old posts over so if there is anything in particular you are looking for you may not find it… or email me and I can find it for you.

Thanks

Winter Fun

Finally the kids got out to play in the snow again. Though Maine hasn’t gotten hit with rain like out West we did have some rain and mild weather.

Do you remember being a child and finding fun things to do with your sled? Well, do you remember sliding down your back steps? I caught a few pictures of Sam and Elizabeth out back coming down the back steps.

Elizabeth waits anxiously at the top preparing for one of her most daring moments:
Elizabeth Awaits

Here is Elizabeth half way down wondering if she made the right decision:

Sammy sees Elizabeth has made it alive. He will be the next hero to attempt this brutal challenge:
Sammy Awaits

Sammy goes so fast he escapes any camera from witnessing his defeat:
Back Steps

Here is Sam wondering how he got down so fast:

And of course here is Isobel all cute in her snow outfit:

Be Careful What You Wish For

I have always found it funny how we spend so much time with our children to teach them how to walk and talk and then once they learn to walk and talk, we spend so much time telling them to sit down and be quiet. Parents must really confuse their children all the time. What fascinates me the most is how tolerable children really are and how patient they can be and parents don’t pick up on it. For instance, my son will ask me a question over and over again until I answer him. He won’t ever raise his voice or hit at me. He just repeats it in the same tone over and over and over. Talk about patience. I can’t deal with that as a grown adult. I tell my children not to make me repeat myself as I raise my voice.

But it is always funny how the kids seem to be the ones who need to learn. Maybe it is the parents who need to meet their children half way. Just a reminder… it was our choice to have children so we must live up to what comes with that package.

Anybody else think of incidences like this? Here is another one: Sammy learned to whistle and I praised him. He was so proud of himself. Now I go around telling him to stop whistling before he drives me nuts. Poor guy just likes to whistle and he got praised for it, so why is he being told to stop now?? Oh how compicated this world is!

Learning to Talk

Isobel is 2 1/2 years old and actually has a wide range of vocabulary words. But there are 2 words inparticular she needs help on but she is so cute when she says them the wrong way I really hate correcting her… :-)

First word:
Marshmallows are pronounced marshpillows… almost sounds like moshpillows.

Second word:
Snot is pronounced as snog. Since she has had a cold she needs a tissue to wipe her snog…
