Be Careful What You Wish For

I have always found it funny how we spend so much time with our children to teach them how to walk and talk and then once they learn to walk and talk, we spend so much time telling them to sit down and be quiet. Parents must really confuse their children all the time. What fascinates me the most is how tolerable children really are and how patient they can be and parents don’t pick up on it. For instance, my son will ask me a question over and over again until I answer him. He won’t ever raise his voice or hit at me. He just repeats it in the same tone over and over and over. Talk about patience. I can’t deal with that as a grown adult. I tell my children not to make me repeat myself as I raise my voice.

But it is always funny how the kids seem to be the ones who need to learn. Maybe it is the parents who need to meet their children half way. Just a reminder… it was our choice to have children so we must live up to what comes with that package.

Anybody else think of incidences like this? Here is another one: Sammy learned to whistle and I praised him. He was so proud of himself. Now I go around telling him to stop whistling before he drives me nuts. Poor guy just likes to whistle and he got praised for it, so why is he being told to stop now?? Oh how compicated this world is!
